Summary: "AND SHE ENDS UP WITH THE LAST SANDBENDER?” It's safe to say that Katara is not happy with how her favorite series ended, romance wise. However, Zuko offers her some comfort.
Disclaimer: I own nothing! Not the characters, the show, nothing! Or I wouldn't be writing this fanfic. No need to sue me!
Author's Notes: Spoilery for the finale. And a few light hearted jokes made at Mike and Bryan's expense. *wink* Hehe...
Zuko and Katara sat in their seats horrified and disgusted.
“I don’t believe it!” Katara said, glaring at the centre stage, only wishing that she was a firebender. Maybe she could have singed the building if she stared long and hard enough. “They spend the entire finale together, he works hard to gain her forgiveness, he gives his life for her, AND SHE ENDS UP WITH THE LAST SANDBENDER?”
“… What does a guy have to do to impress a girl these days?” Was all Zuko could mutter after seeing the last five minutes.
“Well I don’t care what the writers say!” Katara huffed, crossing her arms. “The romance in this play is epic proportions of failure! It’s so obvious that the Zhang tribe girl and the Gan Jin citizen understood and deeply cared for one another! Despite their history and their differences! How could you say it would have never worked out?” The Fire Lady bitterly remembered the playwright’s excuses for not pairing the said couple together.
‘She’s so cute when she gets mad over the small things.’ Zuko smiled adoringly at his newly wedded wife, taking her chin in his hand.
“Because they don’t know what it’s like to be in a relationship like ours.” He said, before kissing her sweetly on the lips.
For those brief moments of his lips on hers, Katara blissfully forgot about her annoyance.
Until she decided to get back at the playwright by having sex in his theatre.
AN: “… What does a guy have to do to impress a girl these days?” Hehehe! I got that quote from someone's Uncle! At capslock_zutara. Mums aren't the only ones who ship Zutara you know. *wink*
And before I get loads of "OH YOU SORE LOSER!" or "STOP! BRYKE IS GOD! THEY KNOW WHAT'S BEST!" shoved down my throat, I've got to say this first. In my opinion, most of the finale was well done, despite how Aang defeated the Fire Lord, the end game ships, Ty Lee joining the Kyoshi warriors, etc. I love everything else about the finale. I think some things could have been done much, MUCH better, but other than that, I'm don't feel bitter about it, at least not as much as I used to. Especially since it seemed like Zutara really won out in the end, if you catch my drift. *wink*
So don't take the little jab at Bryke seriously. It's a joke! Loads of writers have been made fun of before for the mistakes they've made (e.g. JK Rowling and her epilogue of doom ring any bells?).
